Built 1953 with large extension added in 1997, funded by Popular Schools Initiative; largest primary in the county. Shares campus and sports centre with Llanidloes High School. Serves the market town of Llanidloes and the surrounding rural area; some pupils travel to the school from a distance away. Pupils offered broad curriculum, with many extra-curricular clubs and actvities, including choir, strings group, brass band and woodwind ensemble. Sport includes football, netball, rugby, cricket, and swimming teams; all regularly compete at local, county and national level. Also active wildlife and art club. Pupils organise weekly cake or fruit stalls for variety of charities; active role in Youth Eisteddfod activities, including recitation, music and drama up to national competition level. School council meets with staff monthly and contributes to decision-making. Healthy Schools initiative; Basic Skills Quality Mark.
